Mandarin Diet

Mandarin Diet

The mandarin diet is a short-term citrus weight loss plan built around tangerines, one of the lowest-calorie fruits at about 53 calories per 100 grams. Tangerines are rich in vitamin C, antioxidants and fiber, which together support your metabolism, strengthen the immune system and help you feel full while eating very few calories.

How the mandarin diet works

Because tangerines are so low in calories, the mandarin diet keeps your daily intake well below normal while still giving your body vitamins and natural sugars. Eating tangerines several times a day also helps curb sugar cravings, and the fiber in the fruit improves digestion and makes you feel satisfied between meals.

Mandarin diet rules

Follow the 7-day meal plan below and eat 3-5 tangerines at every meal. Drink at least 1.5 litres of water or unsweetened tea per day. Combine tangerines with lean protein such as chicken, fish or lean ham, and add plenty of fresh vegetables. Avoid sugar, salt and fried food for the whole period.

How much weight can you lose?

Following the classic 7-day mandarin diet can help you lose 3-5 kilograms, because the daily menu is very low in calories yet still provides protein and fiber. For a slower but safer result, use the 14-day version and add moderate portions of protein to every meal.

Important notes

Tangerines are acidic, so the diet may not suit people with gastritis, stomach ulcers or citrus allergies. Do not follow the strict version for more than one week. Stop the diet and consult your doctor if you feel unwell, develop a skin reaction or experience stomach pain.
