The only shortcoming of lemon diet is that it does not work for everyone. Lemon juice can irritate mucous membranes of the stomach. For this reason, this diet is contraindicated to people suffering from gastritis and stomach ulcer. Lemon may also damage the enamel layer of the teeth. That's why it is better to drink lemon water through a straw and then to rinse your mouth with water.
